9.29.19 Just a couple of notes/clarification on homework. I noticed a couple of students studied their math facts and/or spelling words a different way than the ideas that were on the list. THAT IS FANTASTIC! The purpose of homework is not only to learn math facts and spelling words, but also to find ways to study that work. If you and your child find a way to study that is not on the list, please write it down and check it off. It may even give me ideas to share with others!
Secondly, please remind your child to mark which math facts they are studying on the back. It may be all of them and may just be some. Please email me if you have questions.
Those of you who put a note on the cover sheet of your child’s Thursday folder, thank you. I did read them, although I did not get a chance to respond. You do not have to write a note each week, although if there is something in the folder or in the conversation with your child that stands out, notes are helpful. Quite often I will put questions on your child’s work. Please talk about the answers to those questions with your child. Nothing needs to be written, the conversation about them should be enough.
Last couple of notes: Tomorrow is Picture Day, we are scheduled for 9 am (before morning recess!). Thursday is our Evacuation Drill (see Friday’s email from Mrs. Spray for more information). We are still looking for a volunteer to coordinate our class theme basket.
