12.15.19 I hope you all got a chance to look at your child’s report card with your child this weekend. I hope there were no surprises and the information on it was clear. If you have any concerns or questions that cannot wait until mid-year conferences, please be sure to drop me an email
As I had mentioned earlier, conferences will start the week of January 6th. Please email me 3 times during the month of January that work for you to come in and I will try to accommodate one of those times. I would like to get a chance to meet with each one of you. The best times for me to meet are between right after school (around 2:20) to about 4:00. If those times really don’t work for you, I can do a morning or evening appointment. I did tell the class that if you and your child were comfortable, he/she is welcome to come to this conference as well. Even as young as your child is, he/she can give us a unique insight, not to mention I think it is good for him/her to see us as a team and to start taking ownership of his/her own education.
I will try to keep things as normal as possible this week. However, on Friday, I learned that in lieu of a “party”, 2nd grade has a tradition of watching “Polar Express”, while wearing their pajamas and enjoying hot chocolate and popcorn. THIS IS A SURPRISE so please don’t let your child know. I will let them know on Thursday that they may wear their pajamas to school on Friday, and I won’t give them any other details. I would still like to do the book exchange on Friday too. If you are not able to get a book, I have plenty of gently used books that we can add to the pile so your child will be able to participate and bring home a book to read over vacation. I will let your children know about the book exchange on Monday.
