12.17.2017 Couple of important things today.
First, I have planned a lighter work load this week due to excitement of the holiday break. I am not assigning a spelling list this week, we are going to be taking time to catch up and finish projects we have started, and we will be taking some time to watch the movie “The Sign of the Beaver” (It was our read aloud this fall). Please, however, remind your child that the work we do have to do requires focus and is important.
As your child has probably told you, I have changed the “Reading Log” homework policy. I sent home a note for your child to put on his/her reading log journal. (A copy has put on the “Homework” page). The “Reading Counts” quizzes consist of 15 multiple choice questions that students answer on the computer. I am hoping that this change will encourage our students to complete books they start. Please encourage your child to ask me to take a quiz when he/she finishes a book.
The animal projects came out great! Please make a plan with your child to get it home this week.
I am debating whether or not to send home a Thursday folder this week. If you have a preference one way or another please feel free to send me an email, otherwise I will make a decision on Thursday morning. There will be note in your child’s assignment book if I decide not to send it home.
Last but not least, your child may bring in a book for the exchange at any time this week. I do have a few extra “gently used” books in case your child forgets. If you and/or your child DECIDE not to participate please let me know.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and thank you for sharing your children with me. They are all very special to me.
