2.15.20 We have quite an exciting week coming up!
It is Bobcat Pride Week! Each day has a different theme.
Monday is NBCS Pride: Students are encouraged to wear blue and yellow and/or any NBCS gear they may have.
Tuesday is Animal Print: Students are encouraged to wear animal prints and are allowed to bring a stuffed animal small enough to fit into his/her backpack.
Wednesday is Tropical Day: Students are encouraged to dress as if they are going to a tropical island. (Please be sure it is appropriate, ex. No bathing suits AND remember we will still be going out to recess.)
Thursday is Camp Day: Students are welcome to bring a sleeping bag or blanket (We will be doing some of our classwork around a “campfire” in class.)
Friday will be our “Parade of Nations” and Pep Rally. Our nation is the Netherlands. We will be learning a bit about the Netherlands throughout the week.
As you may have seen on your child’s homework sheet, the second-grade team has decided to take a break from our Wonders program to give us some time to study about the countries we chose, therefore we will have not spelling test this week. I am encouraging students (although it is not required) to take some time to do their own research about the Netherlands. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
Last but not least, I wanted to give you and your child a heads up. I will not be in school on Monday. I have an appointment that could not be done at any other time. As of now Ms. Chase is scheduled to cover for me and I am confident she will do a great job.
