Dr. Stearns' Morning Message
Good morning, 2nd grade families!
We hope that you have all had a great weekend! Thank you again for your patience, feedback, and collaboration this past week. We could not be more grateful for you! Many parents have been asking for the next day's assignments ahead of time. Last week, we wanted to provide you with information in a systematic, and consistent format. However, we realize that as a family, you are going to need to find ways to deliver instruction, support and guidance, all while continuing to work, run a home, and maintain quality family time. Therefore, we wanted to provide you with a document that would allow you flexibility with the "school" portion of your day. We are going to provide you with three documents today in the “Remote Learning Resources” tab in a folder called “Reference”.
Finally, we need to keep an attendance record of your Second Grader's participation in remote learning, each day. We are asking that you indicate this, in one of two ways. 1. You can print off a copy of the Remote Learning Calendar, and simply make check marks, or highlight the items that have been completed, and photograph or scan the document, or, 2. You can complete the PDF that we will attach later this morning. This is an interactive document, so it can be completed digitally, or you are welcome to print it off. Please submit one of these forms, by Friday. We have left a space for "parent feedback". In this space, please indicate any observations that you have about your second grader's progress or work completion. This will help to guide instruction for the next week.
Please be sure to check our Week 2 PDF/Worksheets page, Reference page (after 9:00) Videos page (after 10:00), "Just For Fun" page (after 11:00), and "Pictures" (after noon time today) page! If there is nothing there yet give it a little time and it will be there...still working on building it. Thanks for your patience.

- A resource document that explains breaks down the academic expectations for second graders. This explains our thoughts on each subject area. We wanted you to be able to refer to this document, should you have any questions regarding expectations. We will attach this to the Remote Learning Resources section of our websites, so you can refer back to this document, as needed.
- Goals for the week -- We hope to provide you with the "big picture" of what we hope Second Graders are learning that week. Thereby, allowing you to supplement and support, as you see fit. You will receive a copy of this via email, each week.
- Remote Learning Calendar - This is to give you a suggested plan of the assignments we are asking the students to complete, each day. There are links to Connected and various websites, as well as a link that will bring you to the PDF documents for the week.
