11.10.19 We were so excited about our field trip on Friday that we completely forgot about this week’s homework paper and spelling practice. This week’s homework sheet and the spelling word practice (with the spelling words) can be found on the homework page. Our high frequency words this week are seven, isn’t, and early. Completing this worksheet can count as one of the 3 days of study. Please let me know if you want me to send a hard copy of homework home with your child on Tuesday. If I don’t hear from you, I will trust that you were able to print both the homework sheet and the spelling sheet.
I hope your child told you about what a great trip we had and all that we learned. When we got back from our walk, we brainstormed a lot of what we learned and wrote some notes in a booklet. Please be sure to look for it in your child’s Thursday folder next week. If you and/or your child have any questions or want to find out more about the history of New Boston, you can go to the Historical Society’s webpage. http://www.newbostonhistoricalsociety.com/ There is an abundance of information!
This week we will be continuing our study of our world then and now. Please be sure to share with your child, how things are different now than they were when you were growing up. Chatting with grandparents will also be quite informational. In math we are continuing to build strategies to fluently add and subtract. A key to fluently subtraction is knowing addition facts and understanding the connection between adding and subtraction. Example: if we know that 4 + 6 = 10 we should also know that 10 – 6 = 4 and 10 – 4 = 6. In reading we are continuing to read non-fiction works about animals.
